As we continued building our Fokker DVII in 2018, we began to discuss our desire to fly together on longer flights - sooner than later.  With the Fokker DVII being a single seat, we knew that continuing our build on that plane would not get us to our goal over the next handful of years. After a lot of research and trips to both Sun 'N Fun and Oshkosh to check out the Vans kit planes, we landed on the RV-12 iS as our immediate project, while we momentarily paused on the Fokker. We put the Fokker in the hangar to hang tight, as we began our new project - the RV-12 iS.  A co-worker, David R., was in the process of building an RV-12 iS and answered many of my questions as well as hooked me up for a test flight with one of his pilot/builder friends.

Our RV-12 iS kit arrived on November 30th, 2018, and our build began on December 1st officially.  We decided with this blog to simply post photos and hours of our progress, without a lot of commentary so that we could focus more of our time on the build and less on the blog documentation.  We do encourage you to send us questions or comments on the site about anything if you'd like for us to explain our approach to any of the build steps.
